Ellen McCance

Former COO of Genscape, a commodities and energy data company, Ellen has extensive experience commercializing and growing innovative data products.
Prior to this, Ellen was the Head of Strategy for Thomson Reuters Markets (the $8.0B financial and media division of Thomson Reuters) and also ran the Investment Banking division which included all data and software sold to investment banks and sell-side research. In these roles, she drove commercial strategy, business plans for scale, and M&A opportunities. Running a business unit with over 400 employees, Ellen has significant experience and passion for mentoring and coaching and received a top Talent Manager award while at Thomson Reuters. She also has experience as an independent Board position of an ESG company which recently raised its Series C-1 funding.
Ellen was recognized at the United Way of New York City “Power of Women to Make a Difference” awards honoring the achievements of women who have made an impact on their communities, and she currently sits on 4 community and non-profit boards.
Ellen is a Baker Scholar (top 5% of graduating class) of Harvard Business School and is a graduate of Duke University. She lives in Dublin with her husband and 4 children.
