Michael previously co-founded Route 66 Ventures, with Pascal, and built it into a globally-ranked venture capital firm. He has extensive Board experience having helped companies grow from inception to exit, including sale to public companies.
He managed over €1.6 billion in emerging growth equity assets across several portfolios for a mutual fund and pension funds at Wellington Management in Boston and was the head of an Alternative Asset Management business for Imperial Capital. Michael is an experienced operator, having previously served as CEO of Goal Financial, a €5 billion student-lending business, before subsequently leading the sale of the company.
Michael created a philanthropic entity, funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, that works directly with the Central Banks of developing countries on innovation projects.
Michael is a chartered financial analyst and a graduate of Yale University and the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business. He lives in Bethesda, Maryland with his wife and two children.
